Project framework and management
The project is part of the Rovira i Virgili University PhD program, in the area of City, Territory and Sustainable Planning.
This initiative has been admitted within the program of Industrial Doctorates of the Generalitat of Catalonia by means of the final partial Resolution of the call for Industrial Doctorates (DI) 2020.
The Industrial Doctorate Plan is an initiative of the Generalitat of Catalonia managed with the support of the Agency for the Management of University Research Grants and the Consortium of University Services of Catalonia.
The Research Group
The research is directed by the Research Group for Territorial Analysis and Tourism Studies (GRATET) of the Geography department of the Rovira i Virgili University and carried out by the doctoral student responsible for the project.
Scientific activity focuses on the analysis of the incidence of tourist and recreational activities in the transformation of the landscape, in the organization of the territory and the generation of new forms of development at local and regional scale.

The objectives of the Industrial Doctorate Plan are to contribute to the competitiveness and internationalization of the Catalan industrial fabric, attract talent, and train doctors for companies within RDI projects.
The essential element of the industrial doctorate process is the strategic research project of the company, in this case the technical consulting company Auditek, where the doctoral student develops his research training in collaboration with the university, and which is the subject of a doctoral thesis. .
The project is co-financed by the Agency for the Management of University and Research Grants (AGAUR) and the consulting and aquatic safety services company Auditek.
